Buckle up, fellow missionaries! We embarked on an epic journey from the picturesque landscapes of California to the tranquil shores of the Pacific, alongside the remarkable Fr. Regie – the Superior General of the Mission Society of the Philippines. Get ready to be swept away by tales of exploration, spirituality, and heartwarming encounters as we traverse across Nadi, Suva, and Funafuti in Tuvalu.
Our adventure commences at the bustling Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on September 2nd at 11:45 pm, where the promise of new horizons beckons. With a heart brimming with excitement and a soul thirsty for discovery, we board our flight and bid farewell to the familiar sights of California. Our destination? The enchanting islands of Nadi, and Suva in Fiji, and our final destination was Funafuti in Tuvalu.
As we touch down in Nadi, the vibrant colors and welcoming smiles of the locals greet us, setting the tone for a journey filled with warmth and hospitality. Fr. Regie, with his unwavering faith and compassionate spirit, seamlessly navigates us through the cultural tapestry of Nadi, offering insights into the intersection of religion and tradition in this tropical paradise.
From Nadi, our next stop leads us to Suva, the cosmopolitan capital of Fiji. Here, amidst the rhythmic beats of traditional music and the aroma of exotic spices, Fr. Regie shares poignant stories of solidarity and service, painting a vivid picture of the interconnectedness of humanity across borders and beliefs. Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we immerse ourselves in the rich heritage of Suva, weaving memories that will forever linger in our souls.
The final leg of our odyssey takes us to the idyllic atoll of Funafuti in Tuvalu, a hidden gem in the heart of the Pacific Ocean. With its crystal-clear waters and swaying palms, Funafuti offers a sanctuary of peace and tranquility, a fitting conclusion to our spiritual sojourn. Fr. Regie's wisdom resonates against the backdrop of the azure seas, reminding us of the boundless connection between nature and spirituality.
In the company of Fr. Regie, every step we take is a testament to the power of faith, compassion, and unity. Our journey from Perris to the Pacific has been nothing short of magical, a symphony of cultures, landscapes, and human connections that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Thank you, Fr. Regie, for leading me on this remarkable journey of discovery and wonder. Here's to more adventures that ignite the spirit and illuminate the path ahead!
Let's keep exploring, dreaming, and embracing the magic of the unknown together. The world awaits, dear missionaries. Let's sail towards the horizon, one unforgettable moment at a time.
Now, as Fr. Regie has left the island to go back to his post in Manila, I remain on this island to begin my missionary journey as the Ecclesiastical Superior and Ordinary of the Mission Sui Iuris of Funafuti in Tuvalu as directed by His Holiness, Pope Francis.

Let your missionary spirit shine bright like the Pacific sun. Until next time, fellow missionaries!
