The Missio Sui Iuris of Funafuti envisions a vibrant and growing Catholic community in the heart of the Pacific, rooted in the Gospel and the rich culture of Tuvalu. We are committed to deepening the faith of our people through evangelization, sacramental life, and the formation of leaders. As we grow the Catholic faithful, we seek to foster spiritual growth, inspire vocations, and be a beacon of Christ's love and care for creation in Tuvalu and beyond.

The Mission Sui Iuris of Funafuti, rooted in the Gospel of Christ, is committed to the spiritual and pastoral care of the people of Tuvalu. We aim to promote a deep faith in God through sacramental life, prayer, and community-building, while also participating in the common good. Our mission includes the enhancement and preservation of Tuvaluan culture, respecting its traditions, and accompanying the people in their struggle against the existential threat of climate change. By fostering hope, unity, and resilience, we seek to be a beacon of faith and action for the future of Tuvalu.

Our Missionary Thrust & Direction
The Mission Sui Iuris of Funafuti is focused on the holistic growth and development of the Tuvaluan people, grounded in faith, culture, and the pursuit of justice for the common good. Through active pastoral engagement, we will foster deeper relationships with God, build a stronger Christian community, and encourage the faithful to live out their mission in the world. In alignment with our vision and mission, we will emphasize the preservation and promotion of Tuvaluan cultural heritage while supporting the nation's fight against climate change.
Our pastoral direction will focus on deepening sacramental life, promoting social justice, and strengthening the resilience of our people amidst existential challenges. We will engage in collaborative efforts with local communities and leaders to safeguard both the spiritual and ecological future of Tuvalu.
